Kim Glass Shines in These 7 Natural Pics From Her Photoshoot in Banff

In 2011, American professional volleyball player Kim Glass accompanied photographer Stephan Wurth to Banff, Canada, for her SI Swimsuit Issue feature.

Among the gorgeous landscape of the location, the professional athlete’s likewise natural beauty really had a chance to shine. Even beyond the surreal background, Glass was struck by the natural approach that the SI Swimsuit team brought to the photoshoot. “Sports Illustrated definitely represents a real girl,” she remarked in a conversation about her experience. “It’s natural.”

In sync with her environment, the volleyball star opted for a natural look for the photoshoot. Under direction from the team, she forwent makeup for the photos, which came as a surprise to her. “I thought it was going to be really pose-y, but it wasn’t, it’s natural,” she reiterated.

The experience taught her much about the secrets of modeling and the importance being herself. “The best tip I picked up so far about modeling is definitely being more natural... and not trying too hard,” the 38-year-old stated.

The whole process, from the fantastic lighting to the beautiful backdrop, really excited her for the final product. “I saw the pictures and I [thought], ‘I can’t wait to see them in the magazine,’” the U.S. National team member expressed.

Today, the retired athlete still leads an active lifestyle and works as a certified fitness trainer. She often shares snippets of her workout content with her 50,000 Instagram followers.
